The University of Arizona is a premier, public research university. Established in 1885 as the first university in the state and the state's land grant university, the UA is home to nearly 40,000 students -- undergraduate and graduate students -- representing every state in the nation and 116 countries around the world. The University offers more than 300 majors through 20 colleges on three campuses - Tucson, Phoenix and Sierra Vista. The UA offers the state's only medical school education.

The National Science Foundation ranks the UA #18 in the nation among all public universities and colleges.

As the state's land grant university, the UA has offices in every county and more than 500 community outreach programs statewide. The UA is part of the newly formed Pac-12 conference with more than 500 student athletes who compete in 19 sports.
